ITINERARY

Day 1 - Peru
Upon arrival in Lima, transfers will be provided to the exclusive Miraflores Park Hotel, located in Miraflores, a residential area with incredible ocean views; enjoy welcome drinks upon arrival. You will then be escorted to a magnificent ocean view executive suite, for a two-night stay. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2
After breakfast spend the morning touring downtown Lima; also known as "The City of Kings" considered since 1991 as a World Heritage Site for its magnificent colonial architecture.  Lima is currently the gateway to the rest of Peru.  Thereafter, visit the Larco Herrera Museum, one the most beautiful and comprehensive museums of Peruvian Pre-Columbian Art and Archaeology. It is located in a majestic 18th century colonial mansion built up over a Pre-Columbian pyramid dating from the 7th century and surrounded by wonderful gardens. It holds the world"s largest private collection of Peruvian Pre-Columbian art (45,000 objects). The classified storage area is also open to the public.

Return to Miraflores Park Hotel and enjoy lunch at La Terrace; where you will be able to taste the innovative fusion of Peruvian and European flavors that our menus have to offer. The afternoon is at your leisure to enjoy shopping and touring the bohemian and romantic district of Barranco; with its antique republican buildings and artsy shops, or relaxes and indulges in a soothing Bath Butler Service or simply enjoys Lima at your own pace.

Day 3
This morning after an energizing breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport, where you will take Lan Peru’s 320 Airbus for a one-hour flight to Cuzco. On arrival, we have arranged transfers to the Hotel Monasterio, the hallowed colonial San Antonio Abad seminary, built more than 300 years ago.  You will be welcomed with a comforting cup of hot coca tea and escorted to your deluxe room.

Spend three nights in a deluxe room with an oxygen enrichment system to help you acclimate to the high altitude in Cuzco (11,000 ft). An a la carte lunch will be served at the main courtyard. You will then take a guided walking tour of the city of Cuzco, including the Cathedral and Qoricancha; the Temple of the Sun.  Enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure or indulge in a luxurious twenty five-minute massage that will make you feel as lavish as Incan royalty.

Day 4
Morning transfer will be arranged to Poroy; the Hiram Bingham train station, twenty five-minutes away from Cuzco. You will then travel to Machu Picchu via the luxurious Hiram Bingham train; enjoy brunch and mimosas on board.  At 12:30 pm the train will arrive in Aguas Calientes where the guides will take you up to the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu by private bus. Get ready to experience one of the most outstanding archaeological wonders of the world on a two-hour tour.

After your tour, we will transfer you back to Aguas Calientes to travel to Cuzco via the astonishing Hiram Bingham train.  Enjoy a sophisticated gourmet dinner on board.  Upon arrival at Poroy, a private transfer will take you back to the Hotel Monasterio.

Day 5
We have arranged a private transfer for a full day at the Sacred Valley, starting at the city of Chincheros, which still keeps the infrastructure of a typical Inca town.  On Sunday enjoy the arts and crafts of a typical Andean market that showcases unique souvenirs from the area; and experience the old barter system still used by its vendors and buyers.

Afterwards, enjoy a specially prepared barbecue lunch amongst superb Andean surroundings.  To continue this magical journey you will go up the valley to Ollantaytambo (a place offering hospitality to travelers), the last Inca town that still keeps its original architecture.  In Ollaytantambo, you will find original Inca houses, natural water canals, and “andenes"; ancient terraces used by the Incas for agricultural purposes.  On the way back to Cuzco, we will visit the Sacsayhuaman, a fortress located north of the city of Cuzco, with spectacular views of the city.  Enjoy the rest of the evening at the Hotel Monasterio.

Day 6 - Brazil
Morning transfer to the airport has been organized for you, board your 320 Airbus Lan Peru flight to Lima; where you will take your international flight to Rio de Janeiro via Varig. Upon arrival in Rio de Janeiro, transfers will be provided to the exclusive Copacabana Palace Hotel. The Copacabana Palace is superbly located. It faces the famous Copacabana Beach and yet is only minutes from the centre of Rio. You will then be escorted to a magnificent deluxe room, for a three-night stay. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Visit the modern Cathedral in the center of town; pass the Flamengo Park and the World War II Memorial.

The grand finale of the tour: a thrilling cable-car ride to the top of Sugar Loaf, 395 meters above the city, and a breathtaking view of Guanabara Bay. The journey is done in two stages: first, to the top of Urca Hill, where visitors catch the second car to their final destination.
